To determine Prevalence of vitamin D deficiency during pregnancy and to compare the effectiveness of different prescription methods of vitamin D3 on maternal and neonatal outcomes

All pregnant women seeking maternity care in Health Centers of Masjed-Soleyman and Shoushtar

First phase: Stratified, multistage probability cluster sampling method (n=2500). Second phase: Randomized clinical trial; number of sample for each group=200

Interview, questionnaire, physical exam, collecting of blood samples for assessment of serum levels of 25(OH)D.

Standard prenatal care with routine intervals.

Maternal serum vitamin D levels.

Maternal outcomes: abortion, preterm labor, Premature ruptures of membrane, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, type of delivery Neonatal outcomes: weight, height, head circumference, icterus, convulsion, 1 and 5 minutes’ APGAR scor
