Goals:


To study prevalence and trend of non-communicable disease (NCD) risk factors and risky behaviors in Iranian children and adolescents

 

Study population:


Iranian children and adolescents aged 6-18 years

Sampling method and sample size:


Multi stage cluster sampling method

 

Data Collection:


Interview, Filling questionnaire by parents and students, anthropometric measurements, biochemical measurements

 

Follow up Methods:


The CASPIANs studies are repeated surveys

 

Main Exposures:


Demographic, behavioral (e.g. nutrition, screen time, physical activity, active/passive smoking etc), communications with peers, injury and violence behaviors, medical history, family history, biological data(e.g. anthropometric, blood pressure), biochemical (e.g. FPG, lipids, ALT-AST, cr) and genetic factors
